Digital Economy / ICT Committee

JFCCT has developed a schematic and explanation of Digital Economy which shows dependencies in the digital economy eco-system and an updated (2024) definition of Digital Economy. This covers a wide variety of interests, including  (a) Digitalisation/Being Digital; (b) On line Governance; corporate governance (and the “G” in ESG); (c) Digital contribution to Sustainabilty; (d) Digital Platforms, eCommerce Tax and Digital Taxes (e ) Data Governance, Date Privacy; (f) Fast Track regulatory reform (digitalisation, re-processing); (g) services sector and market access; (h) Digital skills; (i) AI Governance and select verticals eg AI in Education as a Digital Skills story and AI in Education Webinar; (j) Intellectual property on line and as relevant (k) Competitiveness and pro-competition regulation; (l) Tech for Good concept (m) Spectrum and 5G tools (n) cyber-physical systems (o) IoT

The Digital Economy / ICT group aims to contribute to the economic growth of Thailand in and through development of the Digital Economy including in building consensus amongst its constituent members in the economy, and facilitate business collaboration and the transfer of skills. The industry tends to be by its nature global – the services it provides, the resources it uses, do not on their own recognize the physical and political boundaries of nation states. Jurisdictional issues are common. Technology transfer, skills development and the transfer of know-how and the various policies and regulations which impact such activity are all part of the purview of the Digital Economy / ICT Committee.
