Background, Purpose, Synopsis:

The services sector is recognized as a new engine of growth, stimulating innovation, developing intellectual capital, higher productivity and greater capacity in the economy. Liberalisation of services has largely stalled in Thailand.

In the ICT sectors, real effective growth and development (meaning for example an economy-wide change in work practices, enhanced innovation and productivity gains in the economy, with meaningful impact for business, government and residents) has not fully taken hold.

How are the ICT sectors faring? Where has Thailand been successful and where is there further to do? How can the iCT sectors really shine brightly? While the economy is growing – ICT relatively is slipping. Indicators such as NRI and BSA’s Cloud Scorecard show this. What needs to be done in ICT to make the sector into an innovative, effective and efficient one, playing a much more positive, contributive role?

Style: Sessions are either Addresses, or Topic Sessions (short, punchy 10 minute presentations grouped around a topic, with group Q&A, similar to a style used at TEDx conferences).
