Earth Jump 2024: The Edge of Action- launch the MoU of the Thailand Climate Business Network (ThaiCBN)
JFCCT is party to an MoU with Kasikorn Bank and 25 other significant organisations in five sectors to form the
“Thailand Climate Business Network (ThaiCBN)”
On 27 May, JFCCT participated in the ThaiCBN launch event - “Earth Jump 2024: The Edge of Action” which was graced by His Excellency the Prime Minister and included a conference.
JFCCT’s engagement reflects JFCCT’s active role in Climate Change developments, aimed at supporting members in their Net Zero journey and bringing trust and integrity to climate action measurement and reporting in Thailand. JFCCT’s Climate group has formulated ‘Net Zero with Integrity’ to embrace this mission, with a recent conference https://www.jfcct.org/tfcc-jfcct-net-zero2024/ . This approach is reflected in the MoU, which is to see active participation by all 25 parties through various activity and programmes.
The ThaiCBN network aims to coordinate the efforts of five key sectors –public, private, education, and financial and banking sectors, together with international organizations and businesses – to collectively support Thailand’s drive towards the net zero goal. The initiative focuses on three key areas:
1) Establishing a climate change network across the supply chain and fostering the exchange of knowledge, research, technology, and best practices;
2) Promoting the real-world use of knowledge and technologies; and
3) Enhancing the capabilities of businesses and industries throughout the supply chain to seize new opportunities in a low-carbon economy.
