JFCCT paid a courtesy visit to the His Excellency General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister on Thursday 17th February 2022 at The Government House
On 17 February 2022 – JFCCT Chairman, Mr Stanley Kang thanked the Prime Minister for his national leadership through the pandemic with so many facets including vaccine rollout and opening borders. He spoke on Thailand 4.0, Digital Transformation, Economic Development, Sustainability and Green Economy, BCG economy and ESG to be integrated into the Thai economy to increase country’s competitiveness.
The Prime Minister recognised JFCCT’s contribution over some decades, noting that the private sector was the leader of change, government is the facilitator. If there were obstacles, JFCCT should let his team know so that they can be addressed. He encouraged investment in new fields and looked ahead to overcoming the middle income trap, to Thailand being a high income economy. It was important to get rid of outdated laws. He also emphasized the four principles in the 13th National Economic & Social Development Plan. He said the investment incentives must be attractive to SMEs and startup and allow them to access to technology. Thailand had moved to being 57th in the UN Digital Governance Index- where the goal was to be in the top 60. BCG was an attractive way to ensure that Thailand business was sustainable. The Prime Minister closed by welcoming on-going interaction and support for national development.
