Education & Skills Committee Pilot Project, Major issues

Introduction of the JFCCT Education and Skills Committee VDO clip pilot project with BMA schools.

The VDO clip represents the first pilot project for JFCCT Education and Skills Committee with two Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) schools which has begun since 2016. Our committee has focused our efforts on assisting the underprivileged group of students. This project aims to motivate the disengaged students despite family background, poverty, and learning environment.

We have attempted to improve science teaching and learning by working closely with the teachers. We have successfully advocated the use of product as a substitute for a report while the students have used product development to help tackle water and air pollution. We have provided the disengaged students constructive feedback which enhances their confidence and positive outlook.

School visits, workshops, invitations for product displays and sale, and financial and in-kind donations have been an integral part of JFCCT work. More importantly, the continuous purchases of students’ products have been very essential in motivating and sustaining the development of the underprivileged students.

Finally, school dropouts, teen pregnancy, and bullying and harassment have become dramatically less. At the same time, positive mindset, sense of citizenship, soft skills and employability have improved. Engagement from all of us has been very positive and impactful.
We appreciate if you would share this VDO with your Chamber’s members and would like to welcome your participation in the Education and Skills Committee.
